Lockdown Reflections - As a community it shows what we can do
Recorded 6 years agoPat Ramsay, a member of the Staxigoe, Papigoe and Noss Resilience Group, which is part of
the Sinclair Bay Community Council, reflects upon the support given to the community during lockdown. The resilience group recognised that friends and family had rallied to support the vulnerable and shielded within the community, but the fifteen volunteers felt compelled to do something positive to help too. As a group they decided to produce a regular newsletter, with lots of suggested activities for both adults and children.
Along with recipes, anagrams and quizzes, adults and children were set challenges. Through a Facebook page the community has been encouraged to share photos. In addition boxes of books and jigsaws have been made available for the community to share, observing hygiene standards.
Pat says, As a community it shows what we can do!”
Lockdown has not only brought the community together but has helped to pave the way for the future.
