From A Croft in Newton
Recorded 8 years agoNancy Nicolson – singer, songwriter, teacher and story teller recounts her childhood on a croft in Newton near Wick. Although Nancy has lived in Edinburgh for many years she still regards Caithness as her home and naturally slips into Caithness dialect which she promotes through her songs and stories. She talks about dancing in the Boys Brigade Hall in Wick, sledging down Shore Road and her delight at being chosen as Wick’s Gala Queen in 1964.
