About this recording

Harold Reid talks about his time at Wick High School. In particular he recalls taking part in the drama performance 'Marigold' produced by John Ross, who at that time was a teacher of English. Mr Ross later became Rector of Wick High School. Harold also recalls a school trip to Edinburgh. Participants came from both Wick and Thurso high schools. He also remembers an early memory of hearing machine gunfire as he made his way along West Banks Avenue. He was assisted by Mrs Carter who took him to an air raid shelter.

Harold died in August 2017.
