We sold herring for tuppence each
Recorded 5 years agoIn this short recording, Murray Banks recalls how as a youngster he and a friend would go scaffing for herring at Wick harbour, then earn some pocket money by selling the fish round the doors. One customer even placed a regular order.
Murray also talks about going fishing for peltags and mackerel.
