David Dunnett recalls his first day at school when he and his friend Angie Bannerman made excuses for being late. He also describes in detail the War years, including his memories of the Bank Row and Hill Avenue bombings.
He talks about cycling around Wick as a message boy, working for George Simpson, transporting drums of paraffin oil, precariously placed on a trolley, trundling across the cobbles.
He also talks about various jobs he had as a mechanic and the twenty years he spent as technician at Wick High School.
Davids enjoyment of music started at an early age when he listened to his fathers crystal set and he was enthralled by the sound of the trumpet. He went on to play in many bands including the Blue Rockets.
David has spent over twenty years living in America but he continues to have strong links with Caithness.
