The black shadow and other mysterious tales

Recorded 8 years ago

About this recording

Frank McCaffery has lived in Wick since 1971. He is fascinated by some of the darker, unexplained aspects of local history and in this interview he touches upon murders, bodysnatchers, ghosts and an ancient Egyptian papyrus as well as the presence of a typhoid hospital at Kettleburn, up Wick River, and the possible existence of a “road of the dead” leading from that site into the town. Some of Frank’s stories are based on conversations he had with the late George Sutherland.
