I seem to have come full circle
Recorded 8 years agoIn this interview, Harry Gray looks back on his childhood, living in Willowbank during the Second World War. He recalls the day he found himself underwater, when the ice gave way on Wick river and he had to be rescued. Fitness played an important part in Harry’s life, whether it was swimming in the North Baths, weight lifting or being part of the Boys Brigade gymnastic team. This not only led to a long association with the Boys Brigade but influenced his decision when it came to National Service. Harry became a Royal Marines Commando and wore the coveted green beret. He reflects upon his working life, from message boy with James H Miller outfitter to his business partnership with Willie McAllan. He also talks about his passionate interest in history and Harry goes on to explain that he feels his life has come full circle.
