About this recording
On 22 March 2026 Bower Primary School celebrated 50 years in its current school building. Staff and pupils began the celebrations the following day, with children enjoying a range of exciting activities centred around the motto "Bower School is Fifty" and the number 50.
Claire Henderson P4-7 class teacher explains, “The school just had its 50th birthday just recently, so to celebrate it we did quite a lot of things. We planted a tree, which was amazing, we all took a chance of planting a tree.”
To mark this special milestone, the P4 -7 pupils and staff captured and shared their favourite memories of school life.
Headteacher, Mrs Sylvie Sinclair says, "Over the years I have been continually inspired by the children, the parents and the staff I've had the pleasure to work with. I would not simply describe Bower as a school but rather as a 'learning home' where everyone works together as a team and supports one another."
